10/4/2024 updates

again, no major updates, sorry! :-(!! anyways i fixed the text on this page because it didnt override the css for the index page so the text was blue. i made it white again for readability-slash-aesthetic purposes.

also added in some alt text finally! sorry to all screenreaders

10/2/2024 updates

no major updates i just fixed some cursor glitching on the main page because i finally realized what was causing it!!! im a genius

9/30/2024 updates

unrelated to bombplayground but my boyfriend heads home tomorrow and today is my last day seeing him for the time being :-(

related to bombplayground though i changed the doodletime thumbnail once again!!! sorry! i added a frame around the canvas for fun because at first i wanted to give users the ability to upload drawings but that requires backend development which 1. is hard and 2. neocities doesn't permit SO instead i just gave the canvas a cute little border.

fixed the links on the homepage bc for some reason they just weren't changing when hovered? they worked fine but it's pretty annoying when a link doesn't respond to you, i feel like it keeps you in the dark!

gave a seperate class to the big box that contains all of these boxes so now the devlog page isn't miles long. you can scroll now! i might customize this later but scroll bars are dependent on the browser >:( so if i end up doing that i'll save it for another day.

9/27/2024 updates

ok so. um. technically i did some of this yesterday but i forgot to update the devlog so pretend i did it all today

edited the bg of doodle time bc the fact that it looked identical to all the other pages made the thumbnail look bad! also changed the header etc. etc. to make the page more distinct from the core pages of the site. lesson learned!

added in a line tool! i rewatched codingnepals video explaining his code and noticed that the triangle starts as a line tool. i hope to make the drawing game more detailed in the future and hopefully this is a good start!!!

changed the icons of the tabs. small change but i've been meaning to update the favicon because i always love custon web icons :>

this is less important but i cleared my cache. this should hopefully mean i will run into less issues because tbh i kept running into an issue where my code wouldnt apply and i was like wtf but turns out my browser just needed a cleanup.

moved the css for the index into the style sheet! i know for best practices i shouldve started with this but due to aforementioned cache issues i was struggling with getting the css to apply so i just kept all my styling within the html. but i fixed it!!! now my html is much cleaner thank god (but only in the index. whoops.)

9/25/2024 updates

I ADDED IN MY FIRST GAME!!!! YAY!!!!!

9/23/2024 updates

this is not a dev log. this is a diary. so i updated the title accordingly.

replaced my affirmations joke side with a list of goals! as silly as the affirmations were, i think it's better to have a list of goals there to show people where the website is hopefully headed and also remind myself of what i want to turn this into/how far i've come! i haven't even had this website a week and i've already done so much. i'm really proud of myself.

i made a button! i won't lie and say i particularly love it but i think having one is cutesie patootsie so im just glad to have one! i could remake it later but i have no clue what i want the design to be!

added in a litte border to the boxes here! i accidentally added in an extra div tag when making today's update log and it added a cute border to the boxes here since they got double boxed! i implemented that as a feature because i liked how i looked :3. hopefully double boxing the boxes won't upset how the page looks on mobile.

(couple of hours after my first button attempt) i FINALLY figured out hekate's button maker so i made myself another button. im keeping both buttons bc unfortunately im not a master graphic designer so they both need a bit of work!

9/20/2024 updates

i noticed when opening the devlog on mobile the header gets all fucky. so i fixed it!! that was my bad for not optimizing it on mobile in the first place. freecodecamp taught me better than this! i wanted to get ahead of the curve on mobile optimization because i knew it would just get harder if i ignored it any longer and kept adding things to my website. i really want to make this page accessible on some level because to me, that is a core aspect of successful programming!

#accessibilitywin #webaccessibilitystandards #hashtag

i also updated the visitor counter. i noticed the one i was using wasn't the Best at trackign visits so i used a new service (fc2). i like this new counter it is cutie patootie but obviously besides that i noticed it works a lot better than the last one :3 only thing i dislike is that neocities code editor thinks the code is wrong but still allows it to work?? which is fine just makes an ugly red mark in my code. frown emoji.

9/19/2024 updates

i added in the dev log page! additionally, i was able to transfer the css over to the devlog page and customize it slightly. had some trouble w this because the sadgrl html code has the css inside the html so the css style sheet was no use to me :-[

connected dev log page to main page

made the cursor for this page a fish cuz i found that funny

overall....woohoo!

9/18/2024 updates

website created heheh

i used sadgrl's html layout builder just to get some layout happening

added in a comment section and visitor count!

let's get this show on the road :3
